| Question n°2 |
Visual CX65 |
Visual CX65 works with Siemens mobile phones connected to your PC or your notebook with one of these interfaces:
- Serial RS232 data cable, original by Siemens or from other manufacturer.
- USB data cable, original by Siemens or from other manufacturer.
- IrDA infrared interface, integrated or serial/USB dongle.
- Bluetooth interface, integrated or serial/USB dongle.
For IrDA, USB and Bluetooth connections, you must install and configure the appropriate drivers provided by device manufacturer for your operating system.
Following FAQs provides useful information for supported connection types. |

| Question n°3 |
Visual CX65 |
Nothing. Check only if the serial port used by data cable is enumerated by your operating system in the working devices list and it's not occupied by other software or drivers when Visual CX65 is executed.
Note: in some cases GPRS modem drivers can keep busy the serial port even if there are no active connections. |

| Question n°4 |
Visual CX65 |
Before to work with Visual CX65 is necessary to install the driver supplied by the manufacturer.
For Siemens original USB cables you can downalod the standard drivers from official web site:
DCA-510 [driver] [web page] for Siemens 55/60/65/70 series
DCA-540 [driver] [web page] for Siemens 65/70 series
For other USB cables is better to use the drivers included with the package. We know some case where no-Siemens USB cables works correctly with Siemens driver or with this generic driver.
Then, after driver installation, one new virual COM port will be available (example: COM5) and it's associed to USB cable: by selecting this COM port in Visual CX65 configuration you will be able to estabilish a connection with your mobile phone; in the same configuration window you can set the communication speed to 115200 bps or 57600 bps if the connection is unstable. |

| Question n°5 |
Visual CX65 |
If your Operating System is Windows 95/98/ME, you have to activate the support for infrared devices, checking that a new virtual COM port will be automatically added to your system.
In the 'infrared monitor' you have to set up the communication port speed to 115200bps or to a lower value if the connection is not stable. In Visual CX65 simply choose the COM port associed to IrDA device.
For Windows NT/2000/XP Operating Systems and newer there isn't a native support for IrDA virtual COM port. In this case you can configure Visual CX65 to use its infrared support by selecting the IrDA option in the communication port selection-list.
Otherwise you can use a third party driver, like IrCOMM2k, that add to your system a virtual COM port to use in Visual CX65 as a normal serial connection, eventually limiting the communication speed in case of instability problems. |

| Question n°6 |
Visual CX65 |
First of all it's necessary a correct installation and configuration of the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the device or by the Operating System. In order that Visual CX65 could communicate with your mobile phone through the Bluetooth connection, PC and phone must have their interfaces activated and they must be configured to authorize the connection, eventually executing the pairing procedure. In Bluetooth network resources of your PC, you have to enable the support for a Bluetooth serial port associated to your mobile phone (for example COM8).
Choosing this COM port in the Visual CX65 options and setting the communication speed to the optimal value (115200bps), the connection will happen without problems. |
